The second phase of the design process is Scoping & Defining a Design Brief. It moves on from the first phase of user research & understanding the status quo of the challenge-area you’re working in.
In this second phase, you the designer should be focused on defining exactly what problem you are trying to resolve. You’re processing all the information you collected in the first phase, finding connections, paring down insights, and scouting problems & opportunities for you to situate the rest of your problem around.
Here is a quick sketch of tools to use to synthesize the information you’ve gathered & process it into design briefs & user requirement guidelines.
Do you have other tools you use in this phase? I’d love to hear them!
